DESCRIPTIONS:
Go to Microsoft Update (or Windows Update in Vista) and install KB949810 Office Genuine Advantage Notifications Hotfix.
Now run ‘FIX.BAT’ or manually copy ‘OGACHECKCONTROL.DLL’ to Windows\System32\ overwriting the original file.
Go to:
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/default.aspx
and click the ‘Validate Office’ link and it should pass and you can download any
add-on packs or updates that require validation.
KB949810 may appear again in Microsoft Update but you can now safely install it and still pass validation.
If your unlucky, or have tried to validate Office before applying the patch, you may find that when Microsoft Word is opened it may occasionally display a pop up sign that your copy of Office is not genuine.
If so, generate another Office 2007 Key using the ‘KEYGEN.EXE’ (Press ‘Search’ on the Keygen) and change the existing key as follows:
Close all Microsoft Office programs.
Run Regedit.
Locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration
Inside, you will find another subkey that resembles the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Registration\{30120000-0011-0000-0000-0000000FF1CE}
Delete the following registry entries by right clicking on the registry entry in the GUID subkey, click Delete, and then click Yes:
• DigitalProductID
• ProductID
Exit Regedit.
Open an Office application program, such as Microsoft Word.
Office 2007 will prompt you to enter a new 25-character product key.
Copy and Paste in the new product key, and then click OK.
When prompted to choose your preferred type of Microsoft Office 2007 installation, press on “Install Now”.
Microsoft Office 2007 will be updated with new product CD key and the pop up should not appear again.
